The day is special for the unmarried girls or teen age girls... Before one-day girls purchase new dresses for them and make arrangements for tomorrow's celebration. On the very morning of the day... Girls woke up earlier and before the sun rise they take bathe and then wear new dresses. Now puja starts.Girls offer palmful of ‘khae’ with ‘janhi’ (striped gourd), cucumber, banana, coconut, gua (betel nut), etc. known as ‘Anjuli’ to the rising Sun. They also lighten a diya and perform a puja to pay reverence to the Almighty for a suitable bridegroom. The same ritual is performed in the evening, but with ‘Chanda Puja’. Yah like all festive days, this is also a regional holiday. So the "Masti time" for all the kids, boys, and girls. This day no school and college. Just get ready for the "fire play" of the evening. On the very morning people complete their daily work and just become engaged gathering the  "bunch of straws" (କୁଟା ଗଦା/ ଛଣ in odia term).In usual near the "Village temple" there are wide-spread cultivation fields. And this time no ongoing cultivation is there. So normally all thos e wide-spread fields left blank.
