The day is special for the unmarried girls or teen age girls...
Before one-day girls purchase new dresses for them and make arrangements for tomorrow's celebration.
On the very morning of the day...
Girls woke up earlier and before the sun rise they take bathe and then wear new dresses.
Now puja starts.Girls offer palmful of ‘khae’ with ‘janhi’ (striped gourd), cucumber, banana, coconut, gua (betel nut), etc. known as ‘Anjuli’ to the rising Sun. They also lighten a diya and perform a puja to pay reverence to the Almighty for a suitable bridegroom. The same ritual is performed in the evening, but with ‘Chanda Puja’.
In the evening time when full moon smiles in the sky ,the girls in gang goes to the village temple where there is a tubwel.There they performs some rituals and then they come home and there infront of the chaura they prays .
Then seeing the moon in the sky they seek for a good husband for future...Old grannies are of the opinion that a girl has to see the full moon (the fresh moon that has just risen on the horizon) for a young and attractive husband.
Then not only the girls all the boys too started playing different games.
Bohuchori ,luchakali are some traditional games played by the girls and boys.Girls play punchi,rumal chori and lot more games.
Children play some funny games like luchakali,andhaputuli,bisa amruta, and lot more.
Girls wear new dresses with alata (an odia term which is a red liquid used in the feet , as in hand nellpolish is used same as alata for foot).
And the married girls can
In this day the whole village seems to be dancing in joy and joviality.
